• Expertise in Microfinance management, trained under Reserve Bank of India, Pune.
• Master trainer for Gender sensitization for Police personnel, trained under TNCDW, Chennai.
• Master trainer for PRI, trained under SIRD, Maraimalainagar.
• District committee member of Child Welfare Committee.
• District committee member of Crime Against Women
• District committee member of Evaluation Team for Clean Village Selection Committee
• Founder and Moderator for ‘Indian NGOs Confederation’ e-group (yahoo. group) connecting the 830 Indian NGOs and well wishers.
Employment Record:
Govt. High School teacher service from 1962 to 1974 and Aided Primary school HM service from 1984 to 1998, started informal charity during his free time in the nearby villages. Helping the people to organise themselves to get their basic amenities like, drinking water, streetlights, roads and transportation facilities etc., it was such a state that unless you ask for it you do not receive it. It was able to form many peoples organisation to take care of the common community problems in the villages.
Believed in peoples union and initiated a State level Federation called, ‘Tamilnadu Secondary Grade Teachers Association’ (Tamilnadu Idainilai Asiriar Mandram) during 1969, which cater to the need of the Teachers in the state. Great interest and commitment to charity, as a result found ODAM – NGO on 1995 with like minded people, eventually relieved through VRS from job on 1998 and become a fulltime Social worker.
As a chief functionary of ODAM roles and responsibilities are;
o Fund raising and general administration
o Helping the team to evolve people based programmes, encouraging participatory planning, evolving participatory impact monitoring system, etc.
o On the field guidance to field staff in conceptual clarity and skill building.
o Capacity building to staff team on various skills like, participatory learning methods, monitoring impacts, leadership, conflicts resolutions etc.,
o Interpersonal development and team building
Projects of ODAM:
o Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya Residential School for 50 school dropout girl children in Narikudi run by ODAM with the assistance of SSA. ODAM started a Girls Hostel for 20 girls mainstreamed to 9th standard from KGBV School.
o Invite foreign volunteers to teach spoken English for KGBV school dropout girl children from 10 to 14 ages in Narikudi. First volunteer Miss Rachel came from UK and gave spoken English for 1 month. Mrs Amanda and Mr Meryck came from UK for Spoken English for 4 months.
o Demonstration Bio diesel plant constructed by ODAM with the assistance of India Canada Environment Facility, New Delhi.
o ODAM maintain 750 women SHGs in 225 villages for 11500 members in Tiruchuli, Narikudi and Kariyapatti blocks. SHGs get Rs 18 crores as bank linkage sponsored by ODAM and 2500 families has been relieved from cruel money lenders.
o ODAM has selected as District Facilitation Centre (DFC)
for IRISH Youth RCH Project for 18 to 25 ages by TNVHA.
